I've made it to America and in particular, Washington State! It's absolutely breathtakingly beautiful here. I can see giant, snowy mountaintops and never-ending trees. There's an abundance of fresh air and the temperatures are not too cold to enjoy the outdoors with outerwear.
This past week we celebrated Thanksgiving and if you've been following my journey you will know I'm so thankful for the many spectacular events that have occurred this year. My hostess' gorgeous table setting is pictured below. We enjoyed games and a non traditional meal including pumpkin fritters - a South African favourite for get-togethers, especially this time of year.
My hosts have also been kind enough to take me on various adventures and shopping excursions including a trip to Seattle last weekend to enjoy the sights as well as get to know the history of the area that I now reside in. Fascinating stuff but you have to go on the tour to find out more - I'm not going to spoil it for you!
The Space Needle is obviously an iconic landmark of the city so naturally we went to see it. There's no planning the weather but it was a crystal clear day - great for photos.
We also managed to walk around town to see the Hard Rock Cafe as well as the famous Pike Place including the fish market and the gum wall on a fairly quiet day. I've included some pictures from our walk about.
I also started a new job this week working with the elderly in memory care. I assist with the daily activities of the residents including exercise, flower arranging, music, movies and even the weekly outings below is a picture of Lake Washington from the most recent bus ride.
